Doing short sale listing requires a systematic approach. Tell the other agent upfront it will take longer than you actually think it will take. Let them know that you will check in with the bank every Wednesday and you will call and inform the buyers agent what the status is with the bank. On weeks were you know the bank has no answer yet, call the buyers agent any way and say just want you to know we don't have an answer yet and I wanted you to know I am working on this. That way you work on all your short sales one day out of the week and this help your attitude.

Depending on the lender, it could take up to 6 months to get any answers....I have seen Countrywide take their sweet old time and not respond for months on end......I do not feel sorry for the lenders as if they were acting proactively, and ordering BPO's or appraisals after the homeowner is 2-3 months behind and then fiduring their ratios, they could make a decision within days!!!

Coni, it is tough to get this through to anxious clients at times. I have dealt with two and they were both difficult to keep the clients patient.
